RetroHub VR
The 90s live here.

What if the 90s were not as far away as we think?
Do you remember those evenings in front of the cathode-ray television? The 90s terminal, its colourful games, its remote control, and those hours spent exploring a world that felt so modern back then?
Time has passed. Televisions have changed, technology has moved on, and habits have shifted.
But some memories travel across the decades.
With RetroHub VR, the 90s take on a whole new dimension.
More than a game: stepping into an era
Picture finding the atmosphere of a 1990s living room again. The furniture, the colours, the ornaments, the dimmed light and, of course, that bulky cathode-ray television that held pride of place in our homes.
With RetroHub VR, that setting becomes an environment you can genuinely immerse yourself in.
Put on your Meta Quest headset, step into one of the virtual rooms, and find the 90s terminal again, working on a cathode-ray television.
The wood-panelled basement.
The familiar games, their distinctive graphics, their colours and the way they work are all still there.
But this time, you are not simply looking at a screen.
You are in the room.
Take the time to explore the environments, soak up the atmosphere, and rediscover the pleasure of playing the way you used to.
Two ways to enjoy RetroHub
RetroHub VR brings together two complementary experiences in a single app.
Classic mode
Find RetroHub right inside your Meta Quest headset's interface, as an ordinary app in a 2D window. Enjoy your games and the terminal's features without necessarily stepping into an immersive environment.
Immersion mode
Step into three-dimensional environments inspired by the 90s. Explore the rooms, settle in front of a virtual television, and enjoy RetroHub in a setting that recalls the living rooms of that era.
The sitting room, and its wine-red armchairs.
The teenager's bedroom.
Switch between a classic experience and full immersion, whenever you feel like it.
Two of you in front of the same television
A friend can come and sit beside you, in your room. They see your television, they hear you, they see you as your avatar — and they hold the remote at the same time as you.
Just like back then, nothing stops you from playing each other's move.
The invitation goes through your Meta friends list, or through your room's six-letter code, which you only have to read out. Your friend needs RetroHub VR on their headset too, and each of you keeps your own : the room is shared, not the device. The gestures are in the instructions.
A fully standalone experience
RetroHub VR runs directly on compatible Meta Quest headsets.
From the Meta Quest 2 onwards: Quest 2, Quest 3, Quest 3S and Quest Pro.
No computer, no connecting cable and no video streamed from an external device are needed.
The three-dimensional environment and the terminal both run inside the headset, for one integrated experience.
RetroHub VR combines modern virtual reality technology with a look and a way of playing drawn from the 90s.
Nostalgia, but facing forward
Nostalgia is not only about wanting to go back to the past.
It is also the pleasure of finding familiar places again, of rediscovering forgotten experiences, and of sharing memories that marked a whole generation.
RetroHub VR explores that meeting between past and present.
Our aim is not simply to reproduce a bygone era, but to bring it back to life through what today's technology makes possible.
And outside, the neighbourhood.
The 90s are no longer just a memory. They become a place to explore.
A world set to grow
This first version of RetroHub VR is the starting point of an experience that Réseau Inter-Système intends to build on over time.
Several ideas are currently being considered to explore what this world could hold:
- 1990s arcades: finding the electric atmosphere of the arcades again, with their lights, their sounds, their individual cabinets and their games.
- A period video store: exploring a place inspired by the video stores that were once part of everyday life, with their shelves, their posters and their very particular atmosphere.
- New immersive environments: gradually discovering other places emblematic of everyday life in the 90s.
These possibilities are avenues for development and experimentation. They are not commitments to deliver, nor announcements of features to come.
How RetroHub VR evolves will depend in particular on what is technically possible, on experimentation, and on the interest shown by users.
We favour a gradual approach: offering experiences that work, improving them, and exploring new possibilities as we go.
